1984 – Radio Niebieskie Oczy Heleny – LP (Pasażer Records)

“Radio Niebieskie Oczy Heleny” is the third studio album by Rzeszow’s new wave legend 1984, recorded in 1990. Although it features several songs already known to us, and although it falls within the broad new wave style characteristic of the band, it is once again different. Different from what we knew from the band’s Jarocin concerts and radio recordings from the 1980s, different from the “Why not?” demo or the “Special Kind of Contrast” album. Simply put, Mizerny – the band’s leader, author of music and lyrics – doesn’t like to play the same thing twice :). Each successive recording or album of the Rzeszow band, is always a novelty, although from the first note you know that it is the same indistinguishable 1984.
On the album “Radio Blue Eyes of Helena”, dark visions emanating from the new lyrics, accompany an “acid” sound in which we freely find echoes of both Alien Sex Fiend and The Stooges. This concept commanded attention with its decadent and iconoclastic nature both in the early ’90s and continues to do so 30 hooky years later. Because finally, this album is being released on vinyl.
