AUGUST #255
"While seemingly the whole world looks back fondly on the Gipper, your friends at MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL take a stand against this whitewash of history and look back at his real legacy—one filled with South American death squads, Reaganomics (“…killing you, killing me!”), an out of control arms race, a hard swing to the political right, and mountains of lies and deceit all centered around one man—Ronald Reagan. This isn’t just some pure history lesson, as we also investigate how Reagans policies laid the foundation for many of the Bush administrations shenanigans. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about the rock—this time around we feature legendary British punk song-smiths LEATHERFACE, French Ramones worshipers THE HATE PINKS, Japan’s KEEN MONKEY WORK, French anarcho-punk label STONEHENGE and scene reports from around the world! Punk’s Not Dead, Reagan Is!!!"
